Six Japanese Poems by Christian Joore

1.Haiku Haiku

I write haiku poems but
today I’m too busy

2. Winter Haiku

Long sleepy shadows
Lay ‘cross the pillowed pale
a deer mouse scratches

3. Autumn Haiku

The calm morning lake
draws a loon from its depths
I stir the dead fire

4. Spring Haiku

Dim morning twightlight
lifts bird song from the trees
I walk quietly

5. Summer Haiku

a blue sheet of sky
floats on a hot summer road
the cicadas sing

6. French Fry haiku

The bird is close by
my french fries are delicious
I don’t share today
